Outstanding in the Field

We think it's safe to say our cause this week wins for "Most Adorable Way to Travel the Country". Outstanding in the Field is a great way to get involved in supporting local growers and farmers in your community. The idea- a restaurant on wheels that will travel across the country and create an entire evening complete with a multiple course culinary experience, natural ambiance and entertainment. Check out the cause, and see if there is an event near you!

Happy Monday! We spent this past Sunday celebrating with two of our good friends at their beautiful vintage inspired wedding. We thought weʻd give you a sneak peak at the adorable details with this picturesque windmill on the grounds and of course a shot of us before we joined everyone on the dance floor... more to come!

Hello loves! The weekend is just hours away and counting... I have to say, I'm looking forward to a (hopefully) leisurely Saturday with a brunch or late lunch with the girls (channeling this ensemble) and a fabulous Sunday celebrating friends on their wedding day!

Happy Friday!

We've Got Our Eye On Sari Bari

Sari Bari 2

Sari Bari is an organization based in India, looking to give women the opportunity to live outside of exploitation because of the ever growing sex trade. By opening production sites in areas where women have been trapped, or are at risk of being drawn into sex slavery because of desperate poverty and trickery, they have been able to provide hope to dozens of women looking for a better way. They are hired, trained and given a "Freedom Birthday" based on when they were brought in, which is celebrated every year. Their hand-sewn accessories and decor allow you to know who has stitched your product so you can learn a little more about the woman whose life you have supported. We'll be featuring their products from time to time, but for now we encourage you to check out some of the adorable pillows and throws that could be a beautiful accent in your home!

This Never Gets Old

No matter what climate you live in, or the kind of scenery that surrounds you, we think there's nothing better than finding ways to enjoy the outdoors, especially after spending 5 days in an office. Doing anything active, or even just lounging in style on a blanket in the park is the perfect way to end the week. We soaked in the sun at one of our favorite local beaches this weekend, doing our best to make summer go by as s-l-o-w-l-y as possible. Hopefully it's working...

Happy Monday!

Product with Purpose: J.Crew Tote

Love for Japan

As we all know, Japan was struck with a devastating earthquake and tsunami this past March. Although we hear very little on the news now regarding the disaster, the country is still in need of world-wide support. There are a number of ways to donate funds and one the ways is through the purchase of this J.Crew tote! J.Crew teamed up with Japanese artist Pesu for the design and 100% of the profits from each bag is donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society. It really is the perfect book/beach bag! Check it out!

We Couldn't Have Said It Better

The-Holstee-Manifesto

Hello, Monday. We realize that most of us are disappointed to see you, bringing an end to weekend freedom, but from now on we want to look at you as yet another day to enjoy life, friends and passions. We hope you're ok with that!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and can find as much inspiration from these words as we do!

Yosemite... A few DOs and DONTs

My first family trip with my husband and parents to Yosemite has come and gone... and an amazing time was had by all! (minus a few glitches) This is why I have decided to give a little DO's and DONTs for your summer camping adventures...

yosemite2
yosemite1
yosemite6

DOs:
  • Get Physical! Hike, Bike and Explore... how often are you going to be temporarily living in the middle of pine trees and 5-7 unbelievably powerful and jaw-dropping waterfalls?
  • Eat like kings (and queens).. there is no reason to have boxed cereal and plain hot dogs. Get gourmet. We had some of the best steak dinners and delicious egg, sausage/bacon, and pancake breakfasts.
  • Definitely make time for some R&R to read a new summer bestseller or just take a nap.
  • Always remember to camp in style! I'm not talking high maintenance.... pack some of your favorite cotton tanks, great cut-off shorts, and a pair of some fabulous over-sized shades (let's be honest- who wants their face documented forever after 5 days of no showering and no make-up) Camping doesn't need to be an excuse to let yourself go!
DONTs
  • Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy or bring a tent that is not rain proof. Needless to say we were hit with a minor downpoor and may or may not have had some tent flooding
  • Do not decide to practically run/sprint a 9 mile hike... I couldn't walk for two days!
  • Do not stop at dusk to take photos of a mother feeding her two adorable fawns in a meadow full of blood thirsty mosquitoes no matter how sweet you think they are and how National Geographic you think your shot will be
Hope you have an adventurous and always fabulous weekend!

4th of July

Photo
The beach was ridiculously packed, but for some reason on the 4th it never seems to bother us... it must be the warm water and summer sun!

All the lovely ladies on trend with fabulous red, white and blue stripes.

This year our favorite holiday was filled with a fabulous day playing beach volleyball, bronzing, running in and out of the waves, and then off to a wonderful evening barbeque with friends decked out in red, white and blue as we watched fireworks over the harbor. Is it just us or are fireworks still just as magical as when we were kids? We hope you had a lovely 4th and were able to celebrate in style!

XOXO,

Suz & Jenn

It's 4th of July Weekend

...and we couldn't be more excited!
We've got our patriotic outfits picked out, beach plans set and barbeques to attend...and now for a little inspiration from our friendʻs vintage birthday party.
